Planning Commission

The Planning Commission serves in an advisory capacity to the Township Board of Trustees concerning land use and land division within the Township. In addition to preparing and periodically updating the Township’s comprehensive Master Land Use Plan, Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map documents, the Planning Commission also reviews all applications for re-zoning, special land use and site plan review.

The purpose of the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) is to hear and decide appeals to the administration's interpretation of a Zoning Code requirement, or to hear appeals for a variance from the minimum Zoning Code requirements. The Zoning Board of Appeals authority is set forth by the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act 2006 PA 110 MCL 125.3101 et seq.

Meeting Schedule

Planning Commission and ZBA meetings are held at Hamilton Township Hall, 52333 Territorial Road W.

The Planning Commission meets quarterly and the ZBA meetings are scheduled as requested. Any scheduled changes will be posted at Township Hall. Meetings are always open the public.
